Here is my long overdue donut summary. I had some comments from people
saying that they did not like the donuts made in the maker. Others said
that they used muffin, pancake or waffle recipes in the donut maker. A few
said they were heavy or like biscuits. I've copied the recipes below for
those of you who requested this. Thanks to all who responded and to those
who sent recipes. Oh yes, for those who don't know where to find them, there
are always some advertized on ebay.

We love making donuts in our electric donut maker. Ours makes mini donuts.
I think it makes 6 mini ones at a time. It is much like a waffle iron, just
makes little donuts. I had a VERY hard time finding one, but finally
tracked on down, so if you need help locating one, just let me know and I
will get you that info as well. But, here's our recipe:

1 c. GF flour mix
1/2 c. + 3T garbanzo bean flour
1 t. xanthan gum
1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. sugar
2t. baking powder
1/4 t. nutmeg
3/4-1c. milk
1 large egg
2 T. veg. oil
mini choc chips

Combine dry ingredients. Make a well and then add wet ingredients. Stir
until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in chips. Put heaping tablespoon
of batter into each well of preheated donut maker. Bake about 1 1/2 min.
(you'll smell when they are about done). Cool on wire rack. I sprinkle
with powdered sugar when slightly cooled. These freeze and refrigerate and
microwave well!

I think this is a variation of a Bette Hagman donut recipe. Enjoy!

I have one and use it frequently. I just use cake mixes (usually Dietary
Specialties) white and chocolate, and pumpkin (I think using white cake
mix and recipe from them). The donuts are excellent - my family loves
them, and I am the celiac!
Good luck

I haven't used an electric one, but I have used a nonstick one you put in
the oven (which is the same idea: bake, not fry). It makes GREAT donuts,
came with it's own recipe. I've been using several GF flour mixes, just use
GF flour instead of wheat flour (Semper seems the best and easiest, but I
haven't had any failures on non-yeast-bread baked goods no matter what
flour mix I use, maybe we aren't that particular). I'd think an electric
donut maker would be a lot like a waffle iron, and the waffle iron makes
great gf waffles. Both the waffles and the donuts are only good when they
are fresh, but they freeze well and heat up in the toaster oven.

Donut Maker Batter
(Donut Maker by Fox Run Craftsmen at Bartz Party Supply-about $9)

  10 oz. flour (2 ½ c.)--use g.f.
    7 oz. sugar (1 c.)
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
¾ c. milk (more if nec.)
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbs. shortening, melted

(I used g.f.-2 c. white rice, ½ c. masa harina or corn flour, ½ tsp.
xanthan-the corn browns nicely)

Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.
Add eggs, milk, shortening. Mix & fill Donut Maker. Release rings of
batter into hot (375°) oil. (Or, just drop from a spoon. ) Fry until
golden
brown on both sides. Remove from fat, drain on paper towel. Toss in sugar,
fill or frost as desired.
