Annual Education Conference
June 4 - 6, 2004
Double Tree Hotel-Lloyd Center
Portland, Oregon


A conference for individuals and families to explore valuable resources,
receive cutting edge information and research updates, and to network with
others
in the celiac and gluten-intolerance community.

Preregistration guarantees the programs of your choice. The conference starts
at 7:30 a.m. on Friday and runs through Sunday afternoon until 3:30 p.m. The
Pennies From Heaven Banquet will be held on Saturday from 6:00 p.m.- 8:30
p.m., - Celebrating 30 years of Awareness and Support. GIG Kids Day Camp, is
available throughout the conference so parents can attend workshops and the
Saturday banquet while their children and teens have supervised activities,
spaghetti
dinner, movie and gluten-free snacks.

Program choices include:
Health and Wellness Issues with Celiac Disease - Your Questions Answered by
Cynthia S. Rudert, MD, F.A.C.P.;
Integrative Therapies in CD by Dee Sandquist, MS, RD.;
Making the Chef Your Ally by Aaron E. Flores, Disneyland Resort;
Kids and Youth with Celiac Disease Panel Discussion by Al Williams;
Advocating for Celiac Disease by Andrea Levario and Allison Hewitt of the
American Celiac Task Force;
Optimizing Nutrition with CD by Cathy Breedon, RD;
Staying Active with Pain and Nerve Problems by S. Barsotti, PT;
Living Mature Years with Celiac Disease Panel Discussion by Al Williams.

Cooking workshops are held on Friday and include:
Gourmet Desserts 101 by Cyndy Clark, owner Grassroots Baking Co.;
Crepes - Savory and Sweet by Rebecca Reilly, author Gluten-Free Baking;
Focaccia Bread and Pizza Crust by Karen Robertson, author Cooking
Gluten-Free!;
Fail-Proof Pie Crust for Sweet and Savory Dishes by Carol Fenster, Ph.D.,
author and owner Savory Palate, Inc.

Local restaurants have agreed to accommodate reserved guests to eat out on
Friday night, this reservation is required at registration and is optional to
conference participants.  The restaurants are Corbett Fish House, Old Wive's
Tale and Jake's Grill.

It will be a great weekend to relax and know that everything we eat is safe.

Family rates are available (maximum 2 adults and 2 children) as well as One
Day
Only rates and Banquet Only rates. Childcare is available at a nominal fee for
children 4 and under for all three days. Preregistration is required for
