Please join us for our GFG-AZ meeting on Wednesday, October 20 from 6:30 PM
to 8:00 PM.

Our guest speaker is gluten-free cookbook author Connie Sarros, who will
be sharing her secrets for fast, easy and delicious gluten-free meals.
Connie’s interest in gluten-free cooking began when her father was
diagnosed with celiac disease in 1994, at the age of seventy. At that
time, she began experimenting with recipes and experienced the
inevitable disasters we’re all familiar with. Soon she had converted 25
recipes … then 50 … until finally she had 400 dessert recipes. In
September 2000, Connie left her job to publish the “Wheat-Free
Gluten-Free Dessert Cookbook” full-time. She has since spoken to support
groups around the country and written a second book, the “Wheat-Free
Gluten-Free Reduced Calorie Cookbook.”

Connie will be giving a 60 minute presentation – so you might want to
bring some extra drawing supplies for your little ones! We are also
asking for a $5.00 donation, per family, to cover the cost of this
presentation.

Our mini food fair will feature some assorted homemade breads from
LynnRae Ries. Anyone who has tasted LynnRae’s food knows that her baked
goods alone will make the drive worthwhile!

We meet in the Asics Rooms 1 & 2 at Chandler Regional Hospital at 1875
West Frye Road, Chandler, AZ 85224. Please note that this is a new
location as of April 2004.

Directions:

Please go to the Main Lobby Entrance of the Hospital on Dobson ( just
south of the Emergency Room) Go down to the basement via the first
elevators. Go towards the Pharmacy, and then continue down that hallway
to the room on the right. (Please note that we do not meet in -- or near
-- the
cafeteria.) Major Cross Streets are *Dobson & Frye.* Hospital is on the
South East corner.

I look forward to seeing everybody.
