Bought a box of South Beach Living High Protein Cereal Bar, Dark Chocolate Berry. Got it for a non-gf houseguest, who doesn't seem to be eating them.

Wondering if these bars are gluten-free. Anyone know?

I cannot see any gluten in the fine print. I went to the archives and the internet and find nothing definitive. I went to the South Beach Living website, and couldn't find anything.

Some old listserv posts that say many of us use them, and some say they react to the cereal bars. No mention of this variety. Some mention of people reacting to what they perceive is cross-contamination, but no mention of the fact that they contain maltitol, which sometimes can give anyone a bellyache, having nothing to do with gluten.

I opened the carton or I'd return them to the store. But if they're gluten-free, I might just try them.

Thanks. Lin
