In response to the posting from 17 April, "Summary: gf sunblock"

This is that Dr. Peter H.R. Green says in his new book,
"Celiac Disease : A Hidden Epidemic," page 239

COSMETICS

Lotions and Potions
Gluten is absorbed only through the digestive tract. It is not absorbed
through
the skin. Unless you are ingesting your shampoo, skin lotions, creams or
makeup,
they do not have to be gluten-free. If you have specific skin sensitivities
to
creams that contain gluten, you may need to consult a dermatologist or an
allergist.

Also on this page, this is what he says about LIPSTICK...

"Lipstick is the only cosmetic that people ingest, sometimes in huge
quantities.
... Lipstick is not considered a food product, and the labels are not
regulated
by the FDA. if you wear lipstick, spend some time on the phone with the
manufacturer
to make sure that it is gluten-free.

Kissing. People who wear lipstick can consume a fair amount of it.
However, it is
hard to believe that those who kiss lipsticked lips would be ingesting much
gluten by this method."

Subject: Summary: gf sunblock
Thanks for your quick reply. There were two kinds of gf sunblock that were
mention:
Banana Boat and "Nuetrogenia sunscreen for ultra sensitive skin was GF last
year."
For those of you who thought you were being clever telling me that I don't
eat
sunblock - grow up!!! Some of us are ultra sensitive to gluten. If you
aren't that
senstive it's a blessing for you. It doesn't give you the right to ridicule
me or
any one else who needs to be extra careful.
