Recently, I happened to mention the name of my endocrinologist to a dietetic
student who was interning in the hospital where he works. She indicated to me
that he was every dietician's worst nightmare because apparently, he doesn't
believe that diet has any effect on a person's health! Granted he is an
endocrinologist rather than a GI, but, if someone is having trouble getting a
Celiac diagnosis from their doctor, it may be that their doctor holds the
same opinion. Perhaps they should question their doctor about his beliefs
regarding diet and health. Needless to say, I have not been back to see this
endocrinologist!
