Ann asked why it would be a different reading because it is curved.....

The curve, indent is one of the changes of the new test strips for
Accu-Chek  Advantage & Complete meters (Called the Comfort Curve)....
the other change is these strips make the meter calibrate it to read
similar to that of a plasma (blood draw) reading.

The strip is designed to yield a higher reading. Other meters calibrated
(does the math) for plasma-like readings are the Glucometer Elite,
Lifescan's Fast Take, and the new Sure Step.

All home meters currently take whole blood for the test sample, some are
designed to more closely mimic the  lab result you would get from a
blood draw, which is plasma.
