10th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CELIAC DISEASE

The University of Maryland's Center For Celiac Research and the
University of Chicago Medical Center are pleased to officially announce
joint sponsorship of the 10th International Symposium On Celiac Disease.

For the first time this prestigious meeting, that attracts the world's
most renowned and respected medical experts on Celiac Disease, will
convene in the United States. Leaders and members of Celiac communities
from around the world will also be in attendance.

                  DATES: August 11-13, 2000
                PLACE: Baltimore, Maryland, USA

One of the most compelling reasons the Symposium will be held in the
U.S. is the importance of the CFCR's Serologic Study of the Prevalence
of Celiac Disease in the United States to all Celiacs around the world.

Ordinarily the Symposium is held every other year (Tampere 1997, Naples
1999), but the exception has been made because of the importance of
information expected to be available by that time. The European
scientific community was very supportive of our initiative to have the
symposium in the United States. They perceive the CFCR study and other
current scientific research in the U.S. as the long hoped for end of our
lethargy in this field.

We anticipate a very large participation and will release registration
information as soon as possible. More detailed information will be made
available as soon as final arrangements are made.

Our purpose in releasing this information to you at this time is to give
you enough time to plan on attending and participating in what will be
an unprecedented and memorable Milestone in the history of Celiac
Disease in the United States.

In the coming months we will seek the cooperation, participation and
support of ALL Celiac support groups and individuals. Now is the time
for Celiacs in the United States to become a part of the world
Celiac community.
