I'm an adult celiac, keeping my son GF for now as a precaution. I stopped
reading the other list long ago because I could not relate to the attitudes
that were prevalant there. Please don't worry folks. Your kids are not
doomed to grow up hurt, bitter and resentful. That list provides people a
good place to vent and remember that alot of those folks spent decades
being told that they were mentally ill or just plain whiners before they
were properly diagnosed. So if anything, by discovering their condition
early, you've spared your kids the likelyhood that they'll develop the
negative attitudes you see on the other list.
As for the GF or nonGF household question...I agree that that's a decision
for each family to make on their own.
Has anyone with older kids tried letting them have input into how the
family diet should be organized? I'd be interested in hearing how that
strategy worked.
