Hi gang,

Sorry this has taken so long but I finally was able to get the right
information...... Okay, this is NATIONAL, not just NC. Part 15 B of the
ADA is the law that covers this area and this law was adopted by the National
School Lunch Program ACT. The public schools MUST provide a gluten free
breakfast (if they do breakfast) and lunch at no additional cost the the
parent. If your child gets a free or reduced cost meal than the gluten free
meal is free or reduced. If you pay full price, same thing. IF your school
does breakfast they have to provide it then too. If your child is in after
school care they have to provide a gluten free snack.

I have been using this for 5 years at 3 different school in 2 counties and
have never had any mistakes made. You will probably find that your "lunch
lady" will enjoy the challenge, they enter in state competions and such for
this very kind of thing. This program would include any special diet, such
as gluten free, diabetic, lactose free, formula's, tube feedings, etc...

If you live in North Carolina you can call MR John Murphy at (919) 715-1940.
He is very kind and very upset that some schools are not doing this for the
kids!

Hope this helps someone!

Karin
