I want to thank Denise not only for good information, but for the creativity
and humor with which it was shared. Its the best laugh I've had in a long
time.

I just wanted to share some of my experiences with trying to get this
questions answered. I believe my best information on this topic came in
college from a professor in a Women's Studies course & I have relied on that
information for my adult life. This includes the issue of the right type of
orgasm being bogus.

However, after 11 years of monogamy, I felt the need to update myself on
information on sexuality, STD's, etc., on a personal basis. This is where the
confusion began. I talked with close friends who espoused the "intercourse is
best" view with some authority. I sought advice from well-respected books.
Then I spoke to my doctor of eleven years. He has been very supportive,
including overseeing my two pregnancies. When I asked him about this issue,
who also said that intercourse was the way to go & the problem was with our
marital relationship.
I think in this instance, he was a man first and a doctor second. I left
feeling confused, inadequate and like a ninny.

I've also listened to programs like "Loveline" and as a mental health
counselor, I think psychological is accurate, so I'd assumed the rest was
also. They also talk about this issue like its to be expected.

The only real reason I felt insecure about it was because it was an issue
with my ex.
I'm going back to my original thinking that however it happens its OK.

I loved the way Denise talked about this. I think Denise should host her own
list/web site/talk show on whatever topic she chooses.

The moral of the story is it can be a minefield out their for women to try to
get useful information on sexuality. I appreciate everyone's honesty &
courage on this subject. Renee
