I don't use twitter because i don't have a cell phone and I prefer seeing everything on my large computer screen. I'm not interested in linked in because i'm not active in a professional trade. 

The thing I don't get is pinit.. I don't like having ads from places i have shopped display on every site i go.

I don't use Twitter (all the short tweets bore me) but it's a social media
where people can message in short bursts.  LinkedIn is mainly for people
who want to connect via occupational networks.
