Hi,

Looks like it would, but actually - Fairfax classifies it as
Orthopedically Impaired. Amber gets a Physical Disabilities Intenerant to
work with her one hour a week - I suspect the minium amount allowed - and
the PDI teacher wants to make it 1 hour every other week. She is not
eligible for PT or OT - because those are only offered to the degree the
child needs them to participate in the school setting. They give her extra
time to get down the hall, added a word prediction to a computer she has
access to, and laoned her a AlphaSmart, PE isn't adapted at all. She just
fails at things like chin-up and monkey bars and the weight machines I tell
her not to use. The the problem is they have no concept of the effort it
takes for her to make both sides work together and short of putting them in
a lead suit and then having them trying to function - I am at an impasse. I
willl try again - using last nights incident as an example. We where sitting
on the little sofa watching TV and trading candy out of our Easter baskets -
I don't like so you can have it. She was handing me a candy and I didn't
pick up on it right away and she turned her attention back to her basket
looking for something. Then I noticed her hand wasn't just in mid air
between us just for its health and went to take the candy from her. She
dropped the candy before I got there. She said "oooppppsss, I guess I forgot
to concentrate - sorry!". How can someone who doesn't either have to do the
same thing or have had lots of exposure to her - understand?

                                        Brightest Blessings
