My dog (and all the dogs my family had when I was a kid) were "pound
puppies," and our cats would have ended up there if we hadn't adopted them
first. One was the offspring of a neighbors cat, and the other I got when a
co-worker brought a bowl of kittens in to work one day, to see if she could
find homes for them. Wish someone had thought to take a picture of it,
because it was a truly inspired marketing technique, especially when it was
down to the last kitten left in the bowl, and she started mewing for her
littermates. That's when I broke down and called Janet and said "Want
another cat?"

Kendall

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress
depends on the unreasonable man.

-George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950
