The problem with bracing a spactic hand is the possibility of making the
spasms worse if not properly made.  On our little children, we sometimes
use serpentine splints that support the thumb and wrist in a functional
(usuable) possition.  Sometimes we use neoprene splints that give another
type of support.  I'm going to have to get ahold of my splinting partner in
crime and find out if anyone has tried a serpentine type splint on the
larger adult hand.
