Hey Dave,
Before you get the surgery police out, try to look into some of the
options.  One is looking up a behavioral optometrist in the area, he or she
may also be known as a functional or developmental optometrist.  They may
be able to help you strengthen the eye.  Another source is getting Botox
injections into the muscles of the eye.  It weakens the muscles that are
pulling and allows your to work on strengthening the other muscles.  It has
been one of the first reasons they started using Botox.  The problem with
surgery is once the muscle is cut, its not there anymore to work on shaping
the eye for sight.
