Hi Ken!!

>actually TRISH, we christians believe that Jesus is ALIVE, not dead.

Well, Yes - he is - the same way God is alive and my late grandmother
alive - they in the next existance ( Heaven, Elysian fields, Summerlands
etc.) or incarnation and they are alive becasue we love them and things live
as long there is collective memory or person to keep them alive. He was
undoubtly a good man and gave us many good words to live by, and it it a
shame that that the early Christian sect which lived by his words was wiped
out by the sects that chose to deify the man and codify and enforce their
version. Now, there is the following of Mithras - The Sun God who predates
Jesus - and whose life is amazing paralell right down to a 12/25 birthdate.
There are lots of ancient forms of Christianity that are surpressed and lost
such as ancient form of Christianity called Gnostic and the Gospel of Q. I
find the study of ancient history fascinating - I think its shame that
Christians are only taught the portion that is acceptable doctrine by the
"Ones in Charge". The council of Nicea in 325 CE and the Council of
Constantinople in 382 CE - are two of the councils that decided what was
acceptable to pass on - those where men who decided what you believe today
and how you believe it and Christians have been splintering off ever since.
I am a big believer in his philosophy of love and caring for others. This is
a message we need to follow and share as far as I am concerned.
