Mary katherine,
there is a great book, called No Pity, which gives a great view of the issues. you don't have to explain yyyour disability to anybody!

Subject: Re: what were your childhoods like?

Hello,

thanks for the support. I do have a psychologist and she is very good.
The difficulty for me is that the abusers linked what they did with my
"weakness" which included my impairments. I've been told that was
intimidation, but it leaves me very confused about how I understand
issues of disability.

I've been told that basically the best approach is to dismiss what they
said as not worth consideration and figure out what I believe. I tend
to push myself too hard and then I get exhausted and need to drop
everything and relax. I don't like going from one extreme to the other
like that.

Mary Katherine
