Here in Florida, we are taking a neighbor to small claims (maybe) but,
talking with the lawyer 1.  if they don't show up to court, we get the
judgement for us 2.  They either pay or we go after property.  3.  Going
after property means, they make a list or go to jail.  And/ or lien on the
house.  4.  The property is sold at Sheriff's auction and we get the rest.
We keep going until all lawyers, sheriff's fees and our restitution is paid.
This may vary from state to state. 
What a headache you are going through.
