I suspect the adage "all publicity is good publicity" is operating here.

Build a new wheelchair, give it a name that'll stir up a hornets nest among
your target customers, put out PR that you're somehow a thin-skinned
fuddy-duddy just to object to a name, its a cool chair!!

Quite clever business really, it'll probably still fail though, people really
aren't that gullible.
