Tamar,

I know I think about that and have not totally checked into it. It would
definitely be more challenging than the states. They certainly sell chairs
more cheaply. I think if we ever put a group together we would need a van
to get around but if a group decided say to live in a building with a van
and a driver that would be doable financially. There are a few people here
in chairs that I have seen but it is cobblestones...hard on the back. Many
of the streets have driveway curbs but some not. There are some accessible
bathrooms on the street but there are not the regulations like in the
states. For instance right now I live in a four story walk up but many
buildings have elevators.
Can you get into a regular cab with your chair or do you need a special
one? Some cabs are bigger than others and I am pretty sure something could
be worked out with one of the companies. The buses run all the time but I
do not know if they are accessible or if only some are. I'll check on that.
