My son has had two strabismus surgeries, at 10 months and at 4 years (the second was just before Halloween, and he looked wonderfully gruesome). Between these two, he started losing sight in one eye, and we were told to patch him four times a day, an hour each time. Since he was just 2+, we didn't always get in the full four hours, but it did the job anyway.
