Hi Elizabeth,


                Amber had a splint that held her thumb out from the palm of
her hand. It was just a neoprene band around her wrist and the a loop for
her thumb. It was fine for what it was designed for but frequently got
caught on stuff and as with everything and children - out grown to quickly.
It cost $60 then ( 6.5 years ago) absolutely ludicrous.
I can't imagine the two strips of neoprene, the velcro closure and the few
stitches and maybe 15 minutes it took to assemble the whole thing where
anywhere near the cost of the item. Amber wore it for hours at a time rather
than all the time. Probably to give the muscles a rest.
