Elizabeth: Do you have any additional information of Peter Singer and
"Practical Ethics"? - Before I lodge any objection, I'd like to know a bit
more about him. Of course if someone like Marcia Bristo speaks out so
vehementally I should probably just assume the worse.

I have to say I was also very surprised not to see more replies to this
posting. This issue hits those of us on this list more than the Colorado
shooting, Kosovo, or Mr. Clinton's sex life. I'd like to thank you,
Elizabeth, for bringing this to my attention. I will begin composing a
letter and try to find additional information on the web as well.

PS: Anytime the issue of life and death is at stake, and the person is too
young or old to make this decision for themselves, I believe the only people
who have any right to decide the fate of another is his or her immediate
family. My personal opinion on infanticide? It terrifies me to think a
person in authority would advocate something so horrific, not just because I
am disabled. Able-bodied alike should sound the alarm. How long or far a
stretch is it before the definitions of those who don't deserve to live is
all enclusive of any group? If memory serves, didn't Hitler advocate
"cleansing" defectives (mentally and physically disabled). Once this becomes
common practice, cleansing any group labeled "defective", like Hitler did
with the Jewish people, barely raises an eye among the population. Anyway,
that's how it looks to me. - Denise.
