Well I cleaned and filled 4 feeders for the hummingbirds and will make up another half gallon of nectar for tomorrow. These little creatures are ravenous little beast. They are funny. Fighting each other like the feeder is theirs and theirs alone. “It’s mine, it’s mine”

And they fluff up their feathers to make themselves look bigger when they are squabbling. None are bigger than my thumb. They are fun to watch. I’d like them to be still long enough to count them but that will not happen. I have seen as many as 8 on one feeder. Every night before going to roost and every morning when they first get up they have a real feeding frenzy.

i started with 2 feeders then i took one down for lack of interest. then about the 10th of july we saw more and rehung the 2nd feeder. about a week later judy said you are going to have to buy another feeder and this week i bought the fourth. i think they hatched a bunch of whatever you call a family of hummingbirds.

do any of you feed humming birds?
