You mean a selfish person, don't you? I am pro-choice only if the mother's
life is in danger. I used to be more broad in my pro-choice views but as
I've gotten older, I've come to think such a choice that's made only
because the baby would have a disability is wrong and against life for
life's sake.

I remember asking the doctor if he was going to do the tests they do
on older moms to make sure the baby is okay. And he came back with - was
it going to make any difference as to what I was going to do. I said no
and he said Good, then we don't need to do them. I have admit - I had
not thought out what the answer would be. It was one of those gut
reactions. It seems to be not only an ethical question on the part of
the medical community but the individual. Having said that I am other
people oriented - perhaps a person oriented primarily to themselves -
would have answered differently.
