I think more than the disabled vote he's trying to do damage control with
anti-abortion advocates , but I'm not sure he can get a twofer with Palin as
a woman and a pro-life advocate. The overlap between anti-abortion groups
and disability groups opens up yet another extremely complicated issue.

Another thing he's trying to do is balance his age with hers. She's 42,
just barely a baby boomer. She has less political experience than Barack,
having served on the City Council of Wasila Alaska from 1992 to 1996, and as
mayor of that community from 1996 to 2002.

Governor Frank Murkowski appointed her Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil
and Gas Conservation
Commission,[13]<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin#cite_note-12>where
she served from 2003 to 2004 until resigning in protest over what she
called the "lack of ethics" of fellow Alaskan
Republican<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_(United_States)>leaders,
who ignored her whistleblowing complaints of legal violations and
conflicts of interest.[14]<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin#cite_note-Rebel-13>
[6] <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin#cite_note-Sarah-5> After she
resigned, she exposed the state Republican Party's chairman, Randy Ruedrich,
one of her fellow Oil & Gas commissioners, who was accused of doing work for
the party on public time, and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail.
[15] <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin#cite_note-14> Palin filed
formal complaints against both Ruedrich and former Alaska Attorney
General<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attorney_General>Gregg Renkes,
who both resigned; Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.

She was elected governor of Alaska in 2006 by less than 50% of the votes
cast ( She got 48+%, the Democratic Candidate received 42%, and an
independent received 9.6%.

She's seen as pro-life because her child was diagnosed with Down Syndrome
before birth, and she and her husband chose to have the baby.

Read the entire entry because it says some interesting things about how she
responds to sexual harrassment issues and the people in Alaska in charge of
investigating them.

Kendall

An unreasonable man (but my wife says that's redundant!)

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one
persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress
depends on the unreasonable man.

-George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950
