We are trying to do that. We have him involved in camp during the summer and he has kids in the neighborhood he visits during the week and on the weekend. He belongs to a club at school which he enjoys. He just doesn't have someone who is a true friend. They all are acquaintences. Lori

Adolescents is a particular difficult time for someone with CP. Some "non
disabled" adolescents can be very cruel. I would work on getting him exposed
to other peers in social settings, if that could be arranged.

He wants to be like everyone else and it's hard for him to accept that he is
not. He uses a laptop to write which helps, but he wants to write like
everyone else. It's one frustration after another. I just need to keep thinking it
will get better. Lori
