Last nights New Years Ball didn't have any Guy Lombardo; but the band did
play Dixie; and everyone in the great house ( Waverly Mansion 1840) stood up
for the harrahas..then clapped through the jigs and reels in front of the
fire except
..little Mary who fell asleep on the piled coats ;
When I asked during a tour of ther master bedroom why 19 cent beds were so
high
a high spirited matron in hoop dress with ample cleavage responded "Why SUH
(sir) ; to take your bride on"
This produced quite a titter from the ladies and big smiles from the gents
and got me to the head of the line at the punch bowl.

I miss Guy Lombardo though; like clock work you could count on him and the
Royal Canadians  every New Years eve ; it just insn't the same without him;
 where did he play ...the Waldorf ? Ralph would know. Pyrate
 .
