One of my favorite BS camping experiences with my son (an Eagle) was a
weekend when I was the Ass-istant scout master and his patrol came
prepared with food that did not need to be prepared, therefore no
sanitation duty, no cooking, no firewood detail, and they got to spend a
lot more time messing with the canoe in the swamp. It sort of got the
other scouts a bit pissed, then again, I never saw where it said in the
rules that you absolutely had to do everything the hard way.
