MyHOUGHTON ancestors who settled in this area were from Lancaster, MA.
They came to the Putney/Dummerston area in the 1740s with Capt John KATHAN.
Originally they settled in Putney but bought this place sometime before
1870, as this house was built in that year by my ggrandfather and
gggrandfather.

They originally came from England in the  1630s but we haven't been able to
find where in Eng.  Ruth
