Despite my usual tendency to go along with the crowd, it is my humble opinion
that you needn't feel deprived for lack of diners.  We didn't have them in
California either, and hell if I can figure out what the fuss is about.  As
far as I can tell, diners are the illegitimate parents of McDonald's (whose
fries are the best), Burger King (whose burgers are best), Taco Bell (whose
Meximuck is the best on this godforsaken coast, but that ain't saying much).
Wendy's and their squareburgers are beneath contempt.
