Is the "wax on, wax off" thing related to depilatory activity?

Paint the fence--with wax?

By all means, explain. I had no clue it was a cinematic reference (we don't
get many good movies up here )...

Clueless in Upstate.

Having done both of those things at very different times in my life, I can
assure you that it bears little resemblance to either.

As for "paint the fence" it was the next training exercise after "Wax on,
wax off" in the Karate Kid movie. Or should I not be explaining these
things?
