Thank you, Leland!

While face-bedded brownstone has proven to be relatively poor in terms of
durability, I might argue that is still more cost effective, in its total
life-cycle cost, than the typical painted wood house.

I would also argue that properly repaired brownstone with an appropriate
weatherproofing treatment can outperform the original stone in terms of
durability.
