The Tricorn Centre in Portsmouth (Great Britain) is scheduled to be
demolished. This classic of waffle-slab construction that postdates similar technology
in the rebellious colony across the pond, has been described as Britain's
ugliest building, among other things. For instance, Charles the meathead (oops,
political comment!) described it as "a mildewed lump of elephant droppings."
One can only presume that the royalty is trained to recognize such things.
Owen Luder, the Architect of the Tricorn, has a different opinion, possibly
because of his specialized, but admittedly not royal, training. Luder said, "It
is a 'gee whiz' building, not a 'so what' building." For more information,
read the article in The Guardian.
