Hope Windows, Jamestown NY, carry a wide selection, some of which are little
changed from their early days. 716 665-5124. Ask to speak to Gary Johnson.

Subject: Latches for casement windows

Dear all,

Does anyone know where to locate replacement latches for 1920s steel
casement windows? I've received the following distress call from a Richard
F. Wildman and am looking for a specific supplier as close as possible to
Rochester, NY. Can anyone help?

>We have 1920's steel casement windows. Some of the windows are missing the
>latch and some of the areas behind the latches are rusted and weak. Where
>can I find replacement hardware? Or better yet is there some old house
part
>store that might have some of the units? Do you have any ideas beyond the
>obvious as to how to reinforce the rusted areas behing the latches?
