>mixes required to produce good placement productivity in mortar guns are frighteningly rich.> Would.be.very.interested.in.the.test.results,Mike,thanks. A.bottle.of.EZ.spread.came.complimentarily.packaged.with.the.mortar.tool,but.w e.didn't.use.it. I.should.have.experimented.with.it-a.little.clay.can't.hurt! Samples.of.the.5/2/1.mix.I.had.made.up.ahead.of.time.did.not.seem.to.exhibit.e xcessive.strength. Permeability.does.not.seem.to.be.a.detriment.to.me.when.pointing.a.chimney. I've.been.in.this.discussion.with.others.before.and.don't.think.we.ever.resolv ed.it. I.could.have.used.a.6/1/1.mix.but.somehow.wanted.more.lime. 6/2/1.perhaps.would.have.been.better-I.didn't.try.that. Over.the.years.have.messed.around.with.proportions.quite.a.bit.and.frankly-wit hin.obvious.limitations-have.rarely.been.dissatisfied.with.the.results. I.have.to.agree.with.Harry.that.moisture-curing.is.probably.the.surest.way.to. get.a. long-lasting.pointing.job. Hope.this.thread.continues. I'm.very.interested.in.what.others.have.found.out.thru.their.experiences. John.Mascaro
