Hello all,
I am wondering if anyone has experience or knowledge of hemlock as an
exterior siding.  We have a project for which a high grade of cedar was
spec.'d for the ship lap, however neither the cedar nor the alternate
(mahogany) can be obtained in the quantities we need. We have located a
source for hemlock (large quantities of diseased trees being harvested).  I
am interested in the durability, grade specification and ability to hold
coatings and any other characteristics pertinent to its exterior use.
