If it's news you're looking for, another thing to consider is RSS feeds 
- RSS = Really Simple Syndication, or at least is the most common 
meaning.  Basically, it makes dynamic favourite links for your browser 
as the service information changes.  So, for instance, if you subscribe 
to CNN's various RSS feeds, you can check your favourites or load an RSS 
reader to view the links from a single source page.  Like TG, it's kinda 
techie, but might be worth checking out.
