 Thanks for the info.  Two other dates in metal siding history:

 1890:  Wheeling Corrugating Co. began manufacturing of "wrinkled" roofing &
 siding panels (corrugated sheet)

 1945: Reynolds Co. markets aluminum siding.

 Anyone have any other key dates?

Corrugated sheet metal was invented in England in about 1828.  It was
manufactured in the U.S. at least by the 1840's.

In c. 1794 - in the U.S., iron was first rolled into sheets in a mill owned
by Robert Morris in Trenton, NJ.
