I have an urgent need of an intern to continue an inventory of historic
buildings in Dinwiddie County, VA (Petersburg area).  I have posted the job

        NEXT GENERATION CONSERVATION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
                     FOR BATTLEFIELD PARKS

Partners in Parks has joined American Grassroots Unlimited in offering
internships at
battlefield sites in Virginia.  The National Park Service's American
Battlefield Protection
Program is funding these internships.

WHEN:  ASAP (Summer 1999)

WHAT:  Internship in historical resource assessment - research and record
historic buildings in
preparation for developing guidelines for land use and structural design for
county Historic
Preservation Plan

WHERE:  Petersburg area - Dinwiddie County, VA

WHO:  Graduate and upper level undergraduate students with appropriate
skills and
experience.  Suggested areas of interest:  architecture,
city/community/regional planning,
historic preservation

STIPEND:  $1700

TIME REQUIREMENTS:  200 hours.  Specific working arrangements are
negotiable,
however a September 1999 finish date is highly desireable.

Partners in Parks is prepared to assure the academic credit-worthiness of
this internship
project.  It should provide excellent professional level experience.
