Chris, if you ever have the occasion there is a great short movie of the building of either the empire state or the chrysler building at the Museum of the City of New York.  I saw it at an exhibition on Hugh Ferris a while back, I think.  It shows riveters at work putting up the steel.  It's worth asking for the next time you're there, which I imagine you are every so often.

My ears are ringing... but I'm not sure it has much to do with rivets as
much as tenitus.
