Jeez, Sharpshooter, even I know that one.  Ya put a water filter in the
line
to strain the shit (technical term used in the industry with which you
academic types may not be familiar) out.

Just for the sake of being argumentative, and with one eye on making the
top ten list for BP postings this week, dissolved road salt, dry cleaning
fluid, methylene chloride, toluene, jet fuel and lots of other things you
may find in your local ground/drinking water don't get strained out by a
filter. They may help remove paint, however.
