Ashamed? Why? Sounds civilized to me. One has to do what one must do to
maintain one's sanity in extraordinary circumstances, and when
everything around you is crazy, why shouldn't you act equally crazy to
fit in and make sure that you match the paradigm of what is around you,
which of course is the definition of sanity.
