You can poultice with Barkeep's Friend on porcelain - don't know how it 
would work on brick. Just wet the surface of the stain and sprinkle on, 
or make a paste and apply it just to the stained area. Have used it for 
years instead of Comet. Smells kinda funky but works real well on 
porcelain stains, as well as on stainless fixtures and sinks which Comet 
and other chlorine cleaners can leave with a rusty stain around the 
edges after a while.
