I realize you are looking for technical solutions, but I would encourage you
to contact the Wagner Foundry in Chicago.  I believe the man to speak with is
Rick Wagner.  They have recast every conceivable piece of decorative ironwork
for Chicago restorations over the last 30 years. I am almost sure they cast
some elements for Sullivan's Carson Pirie Scott department store.  They are
extremely able.  Would you ever sub it out?
