everybody I know voted for ralph nader, partly because it had been announced
a few days before the election that bush had won the state   (ohio).......

apparently, dubya had such a lead that both he and gore abandoned planned
campaign appearances here, and went wherever else it was that they
still needed to suck up to the voters....

some of us would have voted nader anyway, but a lot of folks just said "what
the hell, for once we don't have to play any political games, voting for the guy
we don't want in order to keep out a guy we don't want *worse*,
and this time we're going to vote for somebody we *do* want, for a change.."    ;)
