"Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest announces its 1999 Restoratiion Field
School.  The intensive two week program will be held from June 1-13.
The program provides an awareness and a knowledge of the rich complexity of
details and issues found in the architectural restoration of historic
properties.  People from all types of experience and disciplines may qualify.
The program is limited to 12 people each year.
Application deadline: May 3.  Components include: The history of Thomas
Jefferson and his villa retreat, the theory and practice of museum quality
restoration, documentation, investigation, construction techniques, historic
materials, masonry conservation, historical archaeology, and historical
interpretation.
