I asked Ken, a friend who is a TCP/IP expert, whether the listserv or the
mail server are at fault in this kind of situation.  "Both," he said.

We should be asking Anthony to tweak the settings on the listserv to
prevent this.  I am on a lot of mailing lists, have been for years, and
P-L is the only one which gets into infinite loops.
