Interesting idea...

do you mean cobblestone as in the street ballast square stones usually
of granite?
or cobblestone as in small boulders of glacial till as in Albion or
Phelps, NY?

sorry for so many questions...
in either case, what do you mean be restoration?
I may have experience and not know it.
